LG Laundry Love Assists Flood-Affected Families in Pangasinan

Supporting families in Dagupan, Pangasinan after the recent flood, LG Philippines’ Laundry Love, in partnership with Breeze and Addessa, offers free laundry services

Clean clothes and lighter hearts filled Barangay Malued in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, a community recently affected by recent storms and severe flooding, as LG Philippines brought its “Laundry Love” initiative to the area from August 13 to 15. Thanks to the generous support of Breeze, which donated 900 detergent sachets, and in partnership with Addessa Dagupan City, the three-day effort served 135 residents. With access to multiple LG washers and dryers, families were able to ease the weight of laundry as they managed to rebuild after the floods.

For years, LG Laundry Love has been a steady source of support for communities in need, especially those hit by typhoons and natural calamities. In 2023, the initiative brought relief to families in La Union, Pangasinan, and Zambales, followed by Marikina and Cainta in 2024. This year, the program continues its mission across the country, bringing not just free laundry services but also the power of LG washing machines, built to handle heavy loads with ease, to lighten the burden for families.

“As part of LG’s ongoing commitment to CSR and community service, Laundry Love goes beyond providing free laundry, it’s also about making families feel seen, cared for, and bringing a sense of ease and warmth in simple but meaningful ways,” said LG Philippines Managing Director, Mr. Nakhyun Seong. “We are truly grateful to our partners, Breeze and Addessa, for helping make this initiative possible. Seeing the relief of families affected by the recent floods in Dagupan reminds us why giving back matters so deeply, and we hope that through small acts like this, we can support communities in rebuilding and standing strong once again.”

The Laundry Love program reflected LG’s mission to strengthen communities through innovation and service, showing how small, everyday actions like making clean laundry accessible can bring a big change to people’s lives. Residents expressed their gratitude, sharing how it helped them cope with the challenges brought by the recent floods, where what might seem like a simple task of washing clothes echoed into a small but significant step toward starting again, thanks to LG’s assistance. By combining innovation and community service, LG remains committed to its vision of making life better for Filipino families, proving that Life’s Good when we come together to stand by one another, one small act at a time.

5 Smart Tips to Tackle Rainy-Season Laundry with LG Washing Machines

LG shares laundry tips for the rainy season, whether you need fast washing, built-in allergy care, or smart fabric protection, the 8/5KG Front Load Combo Washer Dryer with AI DD™ and the 12KG Top Load Washing Machine with Inverter Direct Drive Motor have you covered

Rainy days can turn laundry into a bit of a hassle, clothes take forever to dry, they start to smell less than fresh, and muddy splashes seem to find their way onto everything. But with a few smart laundry habits and a little help from the right tech, keeping your wardrobe clean, fresh, and rain-ready is easier than you think.

LG offers a range of advanced laundry solutions, such as the 8/5KG Front Load Combo Washer Dryer with AI DD™ and the 12 KG Top Load Washing Machine with Inverter Direct Drive Motor, each designed with innovative technology to ensure optimal efficiency, hygiene, and style in any season.

LG 8/5KG Front Load Combo Washer Dryer with AI DD™

Tip 1. Finish Laundry Quick

When the skies stay grey, drying clothes quickly is a must to prevent musty smells, bacteria build-up, and the discomfort of damp clothes. LG’s TurboWash™ technology delivers a deep clean in just 59 minutes, giving you a quick turnaround even without the sun’s help. More can get done even when it’s raining, giving you extra time for those cozy indoor moments, without worrying about laundry piling up.

Tip 2. Prioritize Wellness and Let the Washer Do the Work

Let laundry be the least of your worries with a washer that does it for you especially when the weather’s unpredictable. LG washing machines’ AI DD™ Technology senses your load’s weight and softness, then automatically adjusts the wash for optimal fabric care. While it takes care of the laundry, you can focus on staying dry, cozy, and healthy this rainy season. After all, your well-being matters more than worrying about laundry settings.

Tip 3. Fight Rainy Day Bacteria

Thorough washing and smart rinsing are essential to keep clothes free from dirt, bacteria, and allergens, especially since wet fabrics can easily trap and breed them. LG’s Steam™ technology eliminates up to 99.9% of allergens such as dust mites, while also helping reduce bacteria that can trigger allergies and respiratory issues. Paired with a wide lint filter that captures dust and residue, it ensures your clothes come out clean, fresh, and comfortable to wear.

Rainy days often mean juggling work-from-home tasks alongside house chores. With the Smart Inverter Motor powering quiet yet reliable performance, multitasking becomes easier, whether squeezing in a load between Zoom meetings or doing laundry late at night. And with LG ThinQ™, you don’t even need to leave your desk. Start cycles, monitor energy use, or download wash programs straight from your phone for smart, seamless control that fits perfectly into your WFH routine.

Tip 5. Choose Washing Machines Built for Powerful, Lasting Performance
Choose a washer that delivers powerful cleaning. With TurboDrum™ driving out stubborn dirt through a strong water stream and Smart Motion adapting its triple washing actions to suit every fabric, you get a deep, thorough clean every time. Built to maintain its own performance, it works hard load after load, so you can enjoy consistently fresh, spotless laundry with ease.

DigiPlus, BingoPlus Foundation bring urgent relief to storm-hit Cavite

BingoPlus Foundation, the social development arm of DigiPlus Interactive Corp., continues to deliver critical relief to storm-stricken communities, reaching hundreds of families in Cavite while also preparing a major donation to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for next week.

Upon declaration of the province of Cavite under a State of Calamity, the Foundation responded with relief operations in affected areas. In coordination with Imus Councilor Mark Villanueva and barangay officials, the Foundation on July 26 handed over 400 food relief packs for families in Barangays Poblacion 4A, Poblacion 4B, Malagasang 2B, and Anabu F. An additional 55 packs were provided by the local government, bringing the total to 455 families served.

These efforts form part of the ₱5 million relief commitment announced by DigiPlus and BingoPlus Foundation earlier this week in response to widespread flooding across the country following Typhoon Crising. The relief is made possible by the combined strength of DigiPlus’ brands, BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone, whose success fuels the company’s growing commitment to social impact.

The Foundation also donated 1,000 relief packs to families in Kawit, Cavite, valued at ₱450,000. This was part of its ongoing ₱2 million relief partnership with ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya, which began in 2024 and continues to support communities in need through 2025. This effort is separate from the Foundation’s newly announced ₱5 million relief commitment for Typhoon Crising response.

“In moments like these, what families need most is the reassurance that help is on the way,” said Angela Camins-Wieneke, Executive Director of BingoPlus Foundation. “At BingoPlus Foundation, we do our very best to act fast, to help put food on tables, lighten the burden, and remind them that they are not facing this alone.”

Looking ahead, the Foundation will deliver 100 cabans of rice to the DSWD National Resource Operations Center in Pasay City next week, enough to support over 800 families. More than 50 DigiPlus employee volunteers have pledged to join the repacking effort, marking one of the company’s largest hands-on community mobilizations to date. Further relief operations are underway in affected areas in Metro Manila, CALABARZON and North Luzon provinces.

“We know that rebuilding doesn’t happen overnight,” Camins-Wieneke added. “That’s why we’re staying the course, not just responding to emergencies, but standing by communities as they rise again, stronger.”

Through sustained partnerships and the power of collective action, DigiPlus and BingoPlus Foundation reaffirm their mission: to multiply the good, and stand with Filipinos when they need it most.

Why Filipinos keep smiling, even when it hurts

Life is expensive, but joy doesn’t have to be. In this time of soaring prices, when the rest of the world says, “You can’t afford happiness.” Filipinos say, “Watch us find it anyway.”

Because joy, to us, isn’t something we buy, it’s something we make. When there’s no electricity, we bring out the guitar. When onions hit ₱700 a kilo, we make memes and turn it into a national inside joke. When floods rise knee-deep, we float on a styro box, Bluetooth speaker in one hand, beer on the other.

Across the country, Filipinos are turning to accessible joys, simple things that cost little but mean a lot. A rewatch of “Four Sisters and a Wedding” because “bakit parang kasalanan ko?” never gets old. A teleserye cliffhanger, a budol finds haul, a piso load to send “ingat ka” to your crush. A ₱20 spend on an online game that gives just enough of a thrill to carry you through the day.

This is joy in recession. Simple, affordable happiness that fits in our day, in our budget, and in our hearts.

Filipinos spend over nine hours a day online, more than any other country in the world. But it’s not mindless scrolling. It’s connecting and coping. It’s “G na G,” “Sana all,” “Kapit lang,” our digital mantras, typed with humor… but rooted in grit.

“What you’re seeing isn’t escapism, it’s resilience,” says behavioral psychologist Dr. Ana Reyes. “Filipinos use low-cost entertainment, whether it’s a livestream, a TikTok, or a casual game, to anchor themselves. It’s both catharsis and connection.”

This phenomenon isn’t new. All over the world, pop culture has thrived not in times of prosperity, but in crisis. Hollywood was born in the Great Depression. Anime rose from post-war Japan. K-pop surged during Asia’s downturn.

And in the Philippines? When tragedy strikes, culture erupts, loud, proud, hilarious, and heartfelt. Hardship doesn’t cancel joy. It sharpens it. It teaches us to cherish what little we have.

And that’s why simple pleasures, from a livestream karaoke to a quick game played in between shifts, are never just distractions. They’re declarations. They say, “I may be struggling, but I haven’t stopped living.” “Deserve ko ‘to.”

So, when people look at the rise of low-cost entertainment, especially forms that offer a thrill, or a bit of fun for just a peso or two, maybe the question isn’t “Why?” Maybe the real question is, “How could we not?”

In a world that keeps telling us to harden up, Filipinos choose to stay soft. And rightfully so. In the middle of a crisis, we still look for a reason to laugh and to play. That’s the uniquely Pinoy super power. Raw. Real. Ridiculously resilient.

Because for people who’ve sung through brownouts, danced through floods, and cracked jokes in the middle of a heartbreak, chasing temporary, affordable joys is not a luxury. It’s a lifeline. And when the world says, “You can’t afford happiness,” we say, “Kaya pa naman.” “Meron pa rin.” “Meron at meron.” “Padayon.”

For 20 years, BlueWater Day Spa has been that go-to space — the quiet sanctuary in the middle of everyday rush. Known for its curated massage experiences and signature treatments, the spa has helped countless Filipinos recharge, reset, and find their glow again.

Laughter and energy filled the room as BlueWater Day Spa’s brand ambassadors engaged with the crowd during their official introduction. From left: Host Queen Semana shares a fun exchange with Korean actor Choi Bo Min and Filipino actor-singer Teejay Marquez at the 20th Anniversary Media Launch held at The Westin Manila.

Last July 10, BlueWater Day Spa celebrated this milestone and ushered in a new chapter. The event marked the official introduction of two new brand ambassadors: Teejay Marquez, a multi-talented Filipino actor and singer known across Southeast Asia, and Choi Bo Min, a rising Korean actor-idol and current lead in Beauty Empire on GMA and VIU.

Their presence reflects what BlueWater Day Spa has become — timeless in values, yet fully in touch with the now.

Ambassadors Who Pamper with Purpose

When Teejay Marquez spoke on stage, it wasn’t just to charm the room. It was to share something personal: his approach to rest and recovery in a demanding career.

BlueWater Day Spa ambassador Teejay Marquez shares his favorite massage treatments during the media launch held at The Westin Manila.

“The Balinese Massage helps me recover after long days on set,” Teejay explained. “I also love the Thai Yoga Massage — it stretches me out and rebalances everything. It really helps me sleep better.”

It’s the kind of insight that resonates with anyone who’s tried to keep up with a packed calendar. For Teejay, making time to slow down isn’t just helpful — it’s essential.

Then came Choi Bo Min, who won hearts not only with his calm charisma, but with his surprising fluency in relaxing.

“The Traditional Filipino Massage was new to me — but so good, I fell asleep halfway through,” he said with a smile (“That’s how good it was.”). “I’d also like to try the Korean HIFU treatment — it’s popular in Korea and helps define the face. That’s something I’m curious about.”

Bo Min’s choices reflect what BlueWater Day Spa has cultivated over time: a mix of authentic local treatments and globally inspired offerings, making it relevant for both Filipino loyalists and international stars alike.

A Legacy of Consistency and Care

Five Reasons Why Gen Zs Are Hooked on Puregold Channel’s Si Sol at si Luna

Emotions were super-charged in “Meet the Family,” the cliff-hanger episode 6 of Puregold Channel’s hit digital series Si Sol at si Luna, as Sol (Zaijian Jaranilla) and Luna (Jane Oineza) bade their time in getting together again. In this episode, Sol spent time with Ara and her family, as a kind favor to her, while Luna looked back on happier times with Andy—how he could make her smile even on the bleakest days.

Netizens braced themselves for heartbreak, doubtful about Sol making it to their long-awaited meetup. But the episode’s powerful twist? Sol shows up and finds Luna waiting as the episode closes.

Scenarios like this keep fans glued to their screens as each episode airs on Puregold’s YouTube Channel. Gen Z viewers, especially, find thrill and excitement in each turn, recognizing their own romantic episodes as they relate to Sol and Luna’s journey.

Here, check out five reasons why young followers of Si Sol at si Luna are hooked on the series:

Flawed but genuine characters. Sol is not perfect—he makes silly mistakes, like choosing Luna over an important responsibility and hurting someone in the process. But Sol owns up to his errors, and fans are quick to forget.

This authenticity touches young viewers who are grappling with messy friendships and relationships themselves.

Grief is treated with honesty and nuance. Luna’s grief in the series is not simply a backstory; it is raw and real, like how we experience it in real life. She tries to function, to laugh, and to feel alive again, but her grief comes and goes, often unexpected and overwhelming.

Luna’s story depicts how people process loss—in quiet moments, one day at a time.

It’s a love story, but not the usual kind. Aside from its intriguing and provocative theme—an age-gap relationship—Si Sol at si Luna is not for the wide-eyed romancevjunkie. It’s slow-burn, with crippling doubts, wrought by past wounds, new responsibilities, and personal battles that won’t magically go away.

Si Sol at si Luna is a love story with a reality check, resonating with how we truly experience love.

It understands how Gen Zs think and feel. From quiet anxiety to emotional burnout, the show captures the internal struggles that young people feel—the pressure to move on, connect, and feel something again.

Si Sol at si Luna is a cathartic passage for people who see their own journey in the show’s leads.

The show appeals to different generations. While Si Sol at si Luna has racked up a huge fan base among Gen Zs, Puregold’s Senior Marketing Manager Ivy Hayagan-Piedad believes that the show cuts across demographics with the life lessons it offers. “We’d like to think that viewers of different ages see themselves depicted in the narratives of Si Sol at si Luna. Whether people are dealing with their first heartbreak, reliving a past love, or learning to let go, we are sharing this story so they will know they are not alone.”

In Episode 7 of Si Sol at si Luna ‘The Interview’, we finally see more of Sol and Luna together as Sol begins his heart-to-heart interview with Luna for his film project.

But will this newfound intimacy spark thoughts of romance?
